REGULATIONS FOR REPRODUCTION

The Library offers its users - on request and against payment - the possibility of reproducing its materials. This service is made by photocopy or photographic reproduction, according to the type of material to be reproduced.

Photocopy

Photocopies can only be made with the Library's machine, which is provided with a reading device for rechargeable cards. Users can buy their cards at the card dispenser; the price for a new card is € 3.00 (€ 1.00 + € 2.00 for the first 20 copies). The card can be recharged at the same dispensing machine. The only available page size is A4. The price for 1 page is € 0.10. The card dispenser works with the following coins and notes: € 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, 0.50, 1.00, 2.00, 5.00, 10.00. The card dispenser cannot give change. No invoice can be issued for cards and photocopies.
The Library has set the following limitations according to the copyright law (August 18, 2000, # 248), and aiming to preserve materials from damages.

Photocopy is not allowed for:

  • printed materials published before 1850;
  • manuscripts;
  • typescripts with hand-written notes;
  • the magazine “Scenario”;
  • non-book materials (music scores, theatre programmes printed before 1900, playbills, photos, etc.)

Daily limitations:

  • 200 pages of an essay;
  • 2 play texts;
  • 40 newspaper clippings.

The Library applies the limitations included in the copyright law for books that are not out of print: 15% of each book or issue of periodical, excluding the pages containing advertisements. To prevent infringements, the Library staff can check the photocopies made by users.
Photocopies can also be requested by mail, fax or e-mail. In this case, the copies will be sent by mail, cash on delivery.
Photocopy is always subject to the Library's authorisation.

Photographic Reproduction

Photographic reproductions of documents can be ordered for study or publication or commercial uses. To request photographic reproductions, users must fill the order form and give all the requested details. The order form can be send by mail, fax or e-mail.
The Library will inform the user about the availability of the material for reproduction, and will provide the authorisation together with a detailed price note which must be sent back, signed for acceptance, within 30 days. The authorisation is only given for a single use and in the observance of the copyright law (Law August 18, 2000, # 248).
Digital reproductions are provided by the Library on a CD or DVD. No print will be made. Reproductions made by professional photographers can only be authorised exceptionally, after a specific agreement with the Head Librarian.
The Secretary Office will give information about the delivery, and will issue the invoice for the reproduction.
